Dresden - Frauenkirche

Gunna German-nerd out this one. Ok so this church and Dresden in general was the target of a huge bombing snowing my the allies in WWII. The entire city was destroyed and so way most of this church. After the war all that was left of it was the left side pillar and a bunch a bricks. Over many decades the people of Dresden donated to have the church rebuilt an it was finished pretty recently. What’s even more poetic about this rebuilding is that they kept the old pilar and the brick which can see as the black side of the building and the speckles on the facade in the second picture.
It’s one of the best symbols I know of the rebuking of Germany after Hilter’s reign, and also one of the most beautiful.
